Scott Odell is COO of [[alloc] init], a Bitcoin R&D company building new cryptographic protocols. The team recently published Shielded Bitcoin, a metaprotocol for bringing Zcash-style financial privacy to Bitcoin without soft forks or trusted operators. The company's largest research contribution is Bitcoin PIPEs, a cryptographic primitive for enabling privacy, covenants, and zero-knowledge proofs on Bitcoin without the need for operators, multisigs, or consensus changes.
Previously, Scott spent a decade in the trenches of institutional capital markets in NYC and Hong Kong before jumping into institutional crypto financing/investments, Bitcoin mining, and cryptography HW/SW tech. He now focuses on moving advanced research from theory toward secure, practical applications that expand Bitcoin's capabilities without compromising its core principles.
