Calvin is an open-source Bitcoin protocol developer based in Seoul. He leads the Utreexo project, which lets nodes validate transactions without storing the full UTXO set so that full nodes can run even on low-spec devices, and he is a co-author of BIP 181, 182, and 183, which define its specification. He is a major contributor to btcd, the Bitcoin node written in Go, and the lead developer of utreexod, a Utreexo node, supported by a long-term support (LTS) grant from OpenSats. He also mentors the next generation of Bitcoin developers through programs such as the Asia Bitcoin Dev Internship.
